Meet our Members!

🚒

Each week, we want to take some time to recognize our volunteers who dedicate their time to the Newtown Square Fire Company.

Next up- John Carollo

John joined as a fire fighter in 2024. John wanted to join the fire department to be able to give back to his community, while building comradery with fellow members. He also wanted to develop valuable skills and knowledge to help protect his family and keep his home safe.

Outside of the fire company, John said “I'm a husband and father. My daughter is 16 months old and loves keeping me busy with books and music. I work as a civil engineer in construction management, building taxiways and aprons at the Philadelphia Airport.”

When asked about his favorite fire house memory, John said “I love helping with the Santa rides at Christmas and seeing people of every age run out and wave with a huge smile. It's a reminder of how much a simple gesture can mean to people.”

For anyone considering joining, he says “The fire company can use people with various skills and interests, outside of just firefighting. It's a great way to meet fellow neighbors and work towards a common goal.”
