| The Newtown Square Fire Company supported the Broomall Fire Company by setting up a flag arch during this morning at Marple Newtown Senior High School for a 25th Anniversary Memorial event honoring 9/11.
Each year, the high school's Student Council and National Honor Society plant nearly 3,000 American flags on the front lawn at 120 Media Line Road. Every flag commemorates a life lost on September 11, 2001. This tribute involves broad participation from students, faculty, and local first responders.
After the memorial at the high school, the fire company attended another 9/11 event at the Delaware County Veteran’s Memorial. Fire Chief Chris Young, a retired US Air Force veteran and member of the Board of Directors for the Delaware County Veterans Memorial, served as one of the keynote speakers. |
