| This week's Throw Back Thursday goes back to 1967 and 1969 where an unknown Girl Scout received her certification in “Safety Minded Baby Sitting.” She was just one of the 50 teens to receive this certification.
The story ran on the front page of the County Leader and was three columns wide. We have the photo and the newspaper marking on the back, but we don’t have the story. We know the Fire Company ran a course like this in the 1960’s or should I say, help set it up. We don’t know who the scout is, or the person on the right is. Do you know? Help us fill in blanks.
And in May of 1969 Joanne Smith also passed this class. Chief George Mackey signed her card, but we still have it. Joanne, are you out there? We have your card!
