Easter Sunday House Fire Broomall

Newtown Square Fire Company was dispatched to assist Broomall Fire Company at a working house fire in Marple Township early in the afternoon of Easter Sunday. Marple Police were the first on scene to report it was a confirmed fire. Ladder & Engine 41 arrived to find the shed and garage attached to the house well involved with fire. Also dispatched to the scene were Manoa Fire Company, Garrettford-Drexel Hill Fire Company, Marple Ambulance and Riddle Paramedics. Crews searched to ensure everyone was out of the home, extinguished the fire, assisted with ventilation, checked for extension and overhauled the scene. After the fire was placed under control, a fireman suffered a medical emergency and was cared for by EMS on the scene before being transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital for further treatment. The family was not injured.
