2-Alarm Fire in Edgmont

8:52PM The Edgmont Fire Company (64) and the Newtown Square Fire Company (41) were dispatched to a Building Fire at the VCA Wellington Animal Hospital & Family Pet Resort. Newtown PD arrived with smoke evident from the front of the building and approximately 90 pets inside.

Chief 64 Roehrig requested a 2nd Alarm bringing Delco 53, 73, RIT23, MICU 104, MICU104B, & Chesco 54/56.

Engine 41 arrived on location with heavy smoke from the front of the building. Dimensions: 2-Story 300'x150'. Engine 41 quickly contained the fire to a dryer unit in the laundry room. Crews from LAD41, E64-1, E53, QT53 and CC E54-1 assisted with ventilating the building.

The fire was placed under control at approximately 9:20PM.

Two staff workers were evaluated by EMS.
No Pets were injured as a result of the incident.

All units cleared the scene by 11:30PM

Thanks to our Cover Company- Ladder 35 (Brookline) and Chesco E52-1 (Good Will).
Ladder 35 responded to a fire alarm in the Liseter Development while on standyby.
