Fire Company Responds to a Bus Fire

At 0615 hours the Newtown Square Fire Company responded to a SEPTA Bus fire at 3421 West Chester Pike in front of HollyBrook Condominiums.
Upon arrival Squad 41’s crew personnel advised Fireboard a Septa Bus was well involved in the rear wheel well area. All passengers and the driver were off the bus. The Fire extended into the side wall of the bus and into the floor area of the bus.
The Crew used a Reciprocating saw, Hurst tools and a K-12 rescue saw to gain access to the fire throughout the bus. Two hand lines were deployed by the crew of the Squad 41. Crews were on the scene approximately 2 hours.
