At 1449 hours, Companies 64 (Edgmont) and 41 were alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision with Entrapment at Gradyville Road and North Sandy Flash Drive in Edgmont Township. Numerous calls to 911 reported an overturned construction vehicle with the driver trapped. Squad 41 (FF Terry) and Engine 41 (Assistant Chief Young) responded immediately with 8 personnel. The 41 units arrived and confirmed an overturned dump truck completely blocking Gradyville Road that had dumped approximately 8 tons of stone. After the scene size up, it was determined that the driver had self-extricated to the top of the truck and was not injured. A ground ladder was placed against the truck and driver was able to climb down on his own. MICU 59 arrived and attended to the driver. Crews secured a leak from the truck before being released from the incident by Chief 64. The 41 units were back in the station at 1533 hours. |
