April 29, 2026 Today at 2:56 pm the volunteers of the Newtown Square Fire Company responded to 4799 West Chester Pike, Alfredo’s Restaurant (formerly Mercado) Edgmont Township, for a building fire

Units arrived to find a cooking related fire had been extinguished, however the sprinkler system had activated and there was smoke in the building. Units on scene worked to shut down the sprinkler system and the smoke cleared without the use of ventilation fans. This was the third call of the day for the volunteers.
