The Month of October is Fire Prevention Month. The Fire Company is in Full Swing with events and visiting schools, and daycare centers promoting Fire Prevention. The Fire Company is busy six days a week all month educating, participating in Fire Prevention. The photos show Fire Prevention Lieutenant Bill Rankin lecturing children on smoke detectors and the sounds they make . He also talked about changing the batteries and select a meeting place with their family outside the home. Also Firefighter Mike Kenny (AKA Uncle Buddy the Fireman) showed the children what a firefighter looks like when they enter a home with their Firefighting gear (Turnout Gear) on. Firefighter Kenny also showed the Fire Engine 41 to the children and was assisted by Firefighters Sam Terry, Anthony DiMauro, Chief Engineer Rich Heffernan, and Assistant Chief Chris Young.
