Engine & Ladder 41 were dispatched to assist the Berwyn Fire Company (CC02) on a reported dwelling fire in the 1000 Blk of Beaumont Rd, Easttown Twp, Chester County. Chief 41 (Everlof), Engine 41 (Asst Chief Young) and Ladder 41 (Lt. Harper) arrived on location with nothing evident from a 2-story single family dwelling. The homeowner reported the home being struck by lightning with a fire on the exterior of the residence (propane tank) as well as in the basement. Chief 41 confirmed the fire was extinguished on the exterior of the building by the homeowner. Crews stretched a 1.75" line from Berwyn Engine 2-1 to the basement for a possible fire in the ceiling in the basement. Crews from Berwyn & Newtown opened up the basement ceiling and found minimal fire damage with no spread of fire. The fire was placed under control. Crews ventilated the home and later cleared the scene.
