Paoli Fire Company and mutual aid from Berwyn Fire Company, Malvern Fire Company and Newtown Square Fire Company responded to a commercial building fire on the unit block of E. Lancaster Ave this morning at approximately 1:15am. Units arrived wiith heavy smoke showing from a restaurant with apartment above. Additional mutual aid was requested bringing Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester, East Whiteland Fire Company, Radnor Fire Company and West Whiteland Fire Company units. Officers from Tredyffrin Township Police Department also assisted on the scene.

The fire was placed under control within 45 minutes with extensive overhaul. Thanks to Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co., Broomall Fire Company and West End Fire Company #3 of Phoenixville for providing standby coverage of the area while units were operating on the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office.
